Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunity SEN Tutor – Autism (ASC) – Croydon £20–£35 per hour | Flexible Working | Part-Time / Full-Time New Chapter Tuition is seeking experienced and compassionate SEN Tutors to provide 1:1 personalised tuition to children and young people across Croydon. This role is ideal for teachers, SEN tutors, teaching assistants, HLTAs, and education professionals with proven experience supporting learners with Autism (ASC) and additional needs such as ADHD, SEMH, and Dyslexia. You will deliver structured, nurture-based, and autism-friendly support, helping students build confidence, improve engagement, and achieve meaningful academic and personal progress. The Role As an SEN Tutor, you will: Deliver 1:1 tuition tailored to learners with Autism (ASC) Adapt teaching approaches to meet sensory, communication, and behavioural needs Support students with additional needs (ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia) Plan personalised learning programmes aligned with EHCPs Use structured approaches (e.g. visual supports, routine-based learning) Build positive, trusting relationships to support engagement Track progress and complete session reports Liaise with parents, schools, and professionals What We’re Looking For Experience working with children or young people with Autism (ASC) (essential) Experience supporting SEN learners (ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia) Background in education (Teacher, SEN Tutor, TA, HLTA, Mentor, Support Worker) Understanding of strategies such as visual timetables, structured teaching, or sensory approaches (desirable) Calm, patient, and adaptable approach Strong communication and behaviour support skills Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) Right to work in the UK What We Offer Competitive hourly pay (£20–£35 per hour) Flexible working to suit your availability Part-time and full-time opportunities Ongoing CPD and SEN / Autism-focused training Access to teaching resources and structured support Dedicated tutor support team Long-term placements and progression opportunities Location Croydon and surrounding areas Tuition takes place in homes, libraries, and community settings Safeguarding New Chapter Tuition is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. xehkeey All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks, references, and right-to-work verification.
