Role Overview - SEN Teaching Assistant
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will support pupils both individually and in small groups, ensuring they remain engaged and supported in their learning. The SEN Teaching Assistant will play a key role in implementing strategies that help pupils succeed within the Havering school.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant
Provide targeted support as a SEN Teaching Assistant to pupils with additional needs Assist in delivering personalised learning strategies Support classroom activities as a SEN Teaching Assistant Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and social skills Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant
Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role Strong understanding of SEN needs such as autism, ADHD, or SEMH Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A proactive and patient approach Dedication to supporting pupils as a SEN Teaching Assistant
