Autism Specialist Teaching AssistantLocation: CoventrySetting: Primary School (Mainstream with Specialist Provision)Contract: Full-time / Term-time onlySalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceAre you a passionate and experienced Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of primary-aged children?We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join a welcoming primary school in Coventry, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children who require tailored support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a nurturing school environment.The RoleProvide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism across EYFS, KS1, or KS2Implement personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategiesSupport communication and social interaction developmentWork collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, external professionals, and parentsHelp create a structured, engaging, and inclusive learning environmentMonitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and reportsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition in a primary settingA strong understanding of strategies such as visual supports, structured routines, sensory regulation approaches, and positive behaviour supportPatience, resilience, and a nurturing approachExcellent communication and teamwork skillsRelevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification)Knowledge of safeguarding proceduresWe Offer:A supportive and inclusive school communityOngoing professional development and training opportunitiesThe chance to make a genuine impact on children's learning and wellbeingA collaborative team environment with strong leadership supportThis role would suit someone who is committed to inclusive education and passionate about helping children with autism reach their full potential.If you are enthusiastic, compassionate, and ready for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
