Prospero Teaching is looking for a committed and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school setting in Farnborough. This long-term role involves working closely with pupils who require additional support due to learning differences, communication needs, autism, ADHD, or social-emotional challenges.

You will help pupils feel safe, supported, and confident throughout the school day, providing a mix of 1:1 assistance, small-group support, and in-class guidance. Staff in this school work collaboratively to ensure every child gets the personalised help they need to succeed, and you will play a key part in that team.

This role is ideal for someone who is calm, patient, and passionate about helping young people, particularly individuals with backgrounds in care, youth work, support work, SEN, or graduates in psychology, education, criminology, or child development.

The Role:

Provide 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEND needs

Assist with small-group interventions to strengthen learning and social skills

Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and emotional regulation

Support pupils through daily routines, transitions, and classroom tasks

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff

Adapt learning resources and activities as guided by teaching staff

Help create a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

Experience in SEN, care, youth work, support work, or mentoring

Patient, empathetic, and confident working with pupils facing challenges

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Comfortable supporting pupils across different age ranges

Passionate about helping children progress both academically and emotionally

Psychology, education, criminology, or childhood-study graduates welcome

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Farnborough

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Full-time/Part-time/Ongoing

Pay Rate: £14.66 - £15.66 per hour

Contract Length: Ongoing/Flexible

Experience, Training & Safeguarding:

Experience with children desirable

Understanding xbpsjku of SEND strategies beneficial (training can be provided)

Safeguarding certification required (can be supplied)

Eligibility:

Right to work in the UK

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
