Job Opportunity: 1:1 Teaching Assistant - KS1 (Long-Term Role) | Blackburn Supporting a child with additional needs | Full-time 8:30-15:30
We're looking for a kind, calm and reliable Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a KS1 child with additional needs at a lovely primary school in Blackburn. This is a full-time, long-term position, starting in September 2025.
The child needs extra support with their learning and day-to-day routines, and we're looking for someone who can build a strong, trusting relationship with them - someone patient, caring, and resilient, who can be a steady presence throughout the school day.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting the child 1:1 in class - helping them with tasks and keeping them engaged. Working alongside the teacher to follow learning plans and adapt activities when needed. Running short intervention sessions, focusing on things like social skills, speech or emotional regulation. Helping with transitions, breaktimes and other parts of the day that may be tricky. Keeping things calm, consistent and positive - even on tough days!What we're looking for:
Experience working as a 1:1 previously - especially those with SEN and challenging behaviour A calm, patient and down-to-earth approach.
