SEND Teaching Assistant We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive specialist school in Rotherham. This all-age special school caters for pupils aged 2–19 with a wide range of complex needs, including: Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) Communication and sensory needs The school is known for its nurturing environment and personalised curriculum, which supports pupils in developing independence, communication, and life skills. It has received a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted (May 2024), with inspectors praising the school’s focus on communication and the positive impact staff have on pupils’ progress and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils in accessing a bespoke curriculum tailored to their individual needs. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver high-quality care and education. Promote independence, dignity, and respect in all aspects of learning and personal development. Assist with personal care, moving and handling, and behaviour support where required. Essential Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEND in either an educational or care setting. A strong understanding of the challenges and rewards of working in a special school environment.
