SEN Teaching Assistant – Sunderland

The Role You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same—you’ll need to think on your feet, adapt quickly, and bring energy and commitment every day.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties Assist in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons Provide one-to-one and small group support Help manage behaviour in a positive and proactive manner Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents Contribute to a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment What We’re Looking For
A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative Resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure A “get stuck in” mindset—no task too big or small Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs Previous SEN or school experience is desirable but not essential What We Offer

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
