Your new company Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a well-established Chester-based SEND school that supports pupils with a dual diagnosis of ASD and non-verbal from EYFS - KS4. This is an extremely welcoming and supportive school that is looking to appoint teaching assistants on a long-term full-time basis from September. Your new role As a teaching assistant within this school, you support a number of different classes, assisting class teachers to promote an engaging and stimulating learning environment, as well as adapting your approach to best suit the class and individual attainment needs. You will offer 1:1 support on a timetabled basis across the school, taking a pupil-centred approach to education to build strong constructive relationships. The pupils you will be supporting have a variety of complex special educational needs (SEN) typically consisting of ASD and non-verbal, and require 1:1 support on a timetabled basis. You will play a key part in ensuring that these pupils reach their full academic potential by following their EHCP's, meeting key requirements, maintaining records, and liaising with teachers and SENCO on their progress.
