SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1) – Mainstream Primary School (Camden, Near King’s Cross)

Start Date: January
Hours: Full-time, Term-time only (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm)

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Camden, close to King’s Cross, is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with behaviour and communication needs. This full-time role begins in January and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on a child’s learning, wellbeing, and daily school experience.

About the Role

Providing consistent 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil

*

Supporting behaviour regulation and communication

*

Adapting activities to help the pupil access learning

*

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

*

Following EHCP targets and promoting engagement

*

Liaising with parents and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate

*

Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or similar needs

*

Calm, patient, and able to build trusting relationships

*

Confident with behaviour management strategies

*

Able to adapt learning tasks to individual needs

*

Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach

Requirements

*

Previous SEND or school experience (desirable)

*

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

*

Right to work in the UK

*

Genuine passion for inclusive education
