SEN Teaching Assistant required to provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who may display traits of challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to ensure the student is supported academically, socially and emotionally throughout the school day. To start as soon as possible - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm (Term time only) SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities & Requirements: Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the needs of a Year 4 pupil with ASD Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour Support with emotional regulation, communication and social interaction Adapt learning activities to ensure accessibility and engagement Promote independence, positive behaviour and confidence Track and report progress, behaviour patterns and any concerns Maintain a safe, structured and supportive learning environment Experience supporting students 1:1 in a primary school setting Understanding of sensory needs and ASD friendly approaches Knowledge of positive behaviour support strategies Relevant training such as Team Teach ideal but not essential Teaching Assistant L2/L3, Care or SEND qualification We offer: A full face-to-face interview to ascertain your skills, experience & understand the right role for you Over 300 training courses for all workers Competitive Monthly pay with additional Holiday pay On going support from the schools & Apex team who are teachers with over 20 years school based recruitment experience If you are interested in our SEN Teaching Assistant role, please call us for a discussion or apply with your CV and a covering letter.
