A specialist school in Merton is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties, including autism and additional physical or sensory needs.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a well-established, multidisciplinary environment, where education, therapy, and personalised support are fully integrated into each pupil’s daily learning experience.

Role Overview

* Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

* Location: Merton

* Type: Full-time, long-term

* Salary: £95 – £110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

* Eligibility: Open to graduates and experienced Teaching Assistants

About the School

* Specialist setting supporting pupils aged 3–19 with complex SEND

* Strong emphasis on communication development, using approaches such as PECS and Intensive Interaction

* Integrated therapy provision, including speech and language, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy

* Collaborative, multidisciplinary team supporting both learning and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For

* Minimum of 3 months’ experience working with children

* Interest or experience supporting pupils with complex needs (e.g. autism, SLD, PMLD)

* A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach

* Confidence supporting communication and sensory-based learning
