SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 4 (ASD Support)\n Barnet, NW9 (commutable from Colindale, Hendon, Burnt Oak, Mill Hill, Edgware)\n £105-£115 per day\n Start Date: January 2026\n Contract: Full-time, long-term (Full Academic Year)\n \n Long Term Futures is seeking a calm, patient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a Year 4 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet. This role is ideal for someone with prior ASD experience who understands the importance of structure, consistency, and positive relationships in supporting pupil progress.\n\nAbout the Role\n Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, you will support the pupil both academically and emotionally, helping them access learning and build confidence within the classroom environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:\n\nProviding consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's learning, communication and sensory needs\nUsing ASD-friendly strategies such as visual timetables, clear routines and structured prompts\nSupporting learning during English, maths and topic lessons by adapting tasks where required\nEncouraging independence, engagement and positive classroom behaviour\nSupporting social interaction and emotional regulation throughout the school day\nMonitoring progress and feeding back to teaching staff to help refine support strategiesIdeal Candidate Profile\n\nExperience supporting pupils with ASD in a primary school setting\nCalm, patient and consistent in approach\nConfident supporting learning and behaviour within KS2\nStrong communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships\nReliable and committed to supporting progress for the full academic yearWhy Work with Long Term Futures?\n\nLong-term placements offering stability and meaningful impact\nWeekly pay through our simple digital payroll system\nFree CPD including Autism Support, Behaviour Management and SEN training\nA dedicated consultant providing ongoing guidance and supportNext Steps\n If you're passionate about supporting children with ASD and want a long-term role where you can make a difference, apply today with your CV.
