Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including autism spectrum conditions, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs
Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning activities planned by the teacher
Assist pupils with personal care where required (training provided)
Help implement Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and behaviour support strategies
Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction
Support pupils' communication, independence, and life skills
Prepare learning materials and assist with classroom organisation
Observe, monitor, and record pupil progress, feeding back to teaching staff
Support pupils during transitions, break times, and off-site activities
Maintain a safe, caring, and inclusive environment at all times
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and external agencies
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Experience of working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting
A caring, patient, and resilient approach
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to support pupils with a variety of complex needs
Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSEs or equivalent desirable)
Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
Willingness to undertake training and professional developmen
