Location: Axminster, Devon
Contract: Full-time, long-term (with potential to go permanent)
Pay: £14.96 per hour PAYE / £16.30 per hour Umbrella
Start: ASAP

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in the Axminster area. This is an excellent opportunity to support children with special educational needs in a warm, inclusive and supportive school environment.

The Role

Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a variety of SEN, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH and cognition & learning needs
Supporting pupils in accessing lessons and engaging confidently with the curriculum
Assisting the class teacher with tailored interventions and differentiated learning activities
Creating a positive, safe and nurturing classroom atmosphere
Encouraging emotional regulation, independence and positive behaviour

The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, youth work, support work, etc.)
Patient, resilient and empathetic
Confident in building strong relationships with pupils and staff
Good communicator with a proactive approach
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
