About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils with autism and a variety of complex needs. You will be supporting students both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to engage with learning, build independence, and develop key life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualised support to students with autism and complex learning needs.
Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
Implement personalised learning plans and behaviour management strategies.
Offer emotional and pastoral support, promoting well-being and positive relationships.
Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
Requirements:
Previous experience supporting children with autism and complex needs (essential).
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with learners.
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
