SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD Support)

Contract: Full-time, Ongoing
Salary: £14.24 per hour (PAYE)
We are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Plymouth to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a full-time, ongoing basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a meaningful difference to their educational experience.
The role:
You will work closely with pupils with ASD, providing 1:1 and small group support to help them access learning, develop social skills, and feel confident within the classroom environment. You will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies.
The school is looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting children with ASD (in a school or similar setting)
Is patient, nurturing, and understanding of individual needs
Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils
Is confident supporting communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
Works well as part of a team
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
