SEN Teaching Assistant - Sixth Form

New Today

Portfield School’s Sixth Form in Christchurch, which opened in March 2024, is rapidly growing and making a real difference as it supports an inspiring group of students on their journey into adulthood.
We provide a dynamic and distinctive approach to further education, tailored to empower young people aged 16 to 18 to thrive and reach their full potential. We are excited to be growing our team and are looking to recruit for a Teaching Assistant to join us full time.
The role
You’ll become part of a vibrant classroom environment, supporting a group of up to ten young people aged 15 to 19 as they learn, grow, and develop! We are proud to offer a personalised and learner led approach to life with Portfield Sixth form and you could be apart of this.
Our focus is preparing the students for adulthood by developing independence and essential life skills. We achieve this by using three areas of learning:
* Functional skills for English, Maths and Computing
* The Kings Trust for Apprenticeship/work-based learning/ ASDAN work place qualifications
* Life skills to prepare for adulthood
Life at Portfield School Sixth Form is anything but traditional. Students get involved in a variety of activities such as cooking, theatrical productions, barista training, music, football and much more. Each experience is designed to build confidence, develop skills and allow the student to thrive in a supportive environment.
We love celebrating all the amazing achievements whether it’s playing a new instrument, preparing a new dish in the kitchen, or being able to solve a tricky science question.
