A welcomingprimary school in Southmead is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistantto provide focused 1:1 support. This role is ideal for someone with strong SENexperience who is passionate about helping pupils access learning in asupportive, structured environment.
Role Overview ??
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised strategies
- Encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation
- Support classroom routines, transitions and small-group work
Candidate Profile ??
- Previous SEN experience is essential
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills
- Level 2/3 TA qualification advantageous
- Driving licence beneficial
- SEN training highly valued, including:
- Understanding Autism
- ADHD Awareness
- Team Teach / De-escalation Training
- Trauma-Informed Practice
- BSL or communication-based training
- Makaton (highly desirable for supporting communication needs)
