GSL Education are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming special school in Littlehampton. The school caters to children with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), communication challenges, and medical needs.
About the Role: This is a full-time, child-focused support role where you’ll be assigned to work 1:1 with a pupil or within a small group, depending on needs. The role involves building trust, promoting engagement, and providing personalised support throughout the school day.
Experience with medical needs, personal care, Makaton, PECS, or sensory regulation is desirable — but the school welcomes those who are enthusiastic, patient, and willing to learn.
Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with complex needs
Assist with communication tools such as PECS or Makaton
Help deliver structured routines and visual schedules
Support emotional regulation and sensory needs
