Are you an SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support professional ready to take the next step into teaching?We are recruiting a Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Maths and English to small groups of young people aged 16–24 who may be NEET or have SEN and EHCPs . Many learners face barriers to education, including low confidence or previous disengagement from school, so your role will be key in helping them rebuild confidence and achieve recognised qualifications .1x One Year FTC (subject to extension) supporting NEET Learners – you will only be covering Havering for this post. 1 x Full Time Permanent position covering all delivery locations with 2 x days’ Work From Home (please see below) Delivery Locations Teaching takes place across several sites during the week: Work from home (planning and admin) Thursday: Work from home (planning and preparation) The Role You will deliver Functional Skills Maths and English (Entry Level 3 – Level 2) in supportive small-group sessions.Supporting learners with SEN, EHCPs, or barriers to education Helping young people build confidence and re-engage with learning Monitoring learner progress and maintaining records Working with the wider team to support progression into education, training or employment Teaching sessions usually run between 9:30am – 2:00pm , with additional time for planning, learner support and administration . SEN Teaching Assistants ready to move into a tutor role Learning Support Assistants with experience supporting Maths or English Teachers, lecturers or youth workers with delivery experience A teaching qualification is desirable , but support may be available to help you gain a Level 3 teaching qualification if you do not currently hold one.
