Brick Lane School is looking for an SEN Teacher to join our supportive team and inspire pupils to achieve their full potential.About the RoleWe are seeking a committed and skilled SEN Teacher to join our team and deliver high-quality, personalised learning for pupils with a range of additional needs. You will play an integral role in shaping meaningful learning experiences that support pupils’ academic progress, emotional development, and overall wellbeing.Drawing on your Primary Teaching background, you will plan and deliver individual or small-group lessons that are creative, accessible, and aligned with the school’s curriculum. You will monitor progress closely, adapt teaching approaches, and actively contribute to whole-school development to continually enhance the quality of education provided.Working collaboratively with our multi-professional team, you will contribute to individual learning plans, behaviour support strategies, and classroom organisation to ensure every pupil has the best possible opportunity to succeed. You will help maintain a positive, safe, and nurturing environment that promotes independence, confidence, and self-regulation.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver individualised lessons for pupils with SEN, adapting teaching approaches to meet diverse needsMonitor, assess, and report on pupil progress, contributing to whole-school initiatives and development plansCreate, implement, and review IEPs, behaviour plans, and other personalised documentsOrganise classrooms to provide engaging, supportive learning environments that promote independence and confidenceWork closely with LSAs, care staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure coordinated support for pupilsPromote pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development using positive behaviour strategiesMaintain accurate records in line with school policies and safeguarding requirementsKeep up to date with subject knowledge, SEN best practice, and professional standardsExperience & QualificationsEssential:Primary Teacher degreeQTS (Qualified Teacher Status)Experience working within an education settingExperience planning, delivering and assessing learningDesirable:Experience teaching in EYFSExperience using a multi-sensory approach to teachingExperience supporting pupils with complex needsAbout UsBrick Lane School in East London is an independent school offering education for students aged 5 years to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of Autism. OFG developed a Neurodiversity Strategy (AAD) which informs how we provide education and clinical supports for autistic individuals in an environment which is conducive to their strengths and needs.The school is located just 10 paces off the vibrant and cosmopolitan Brick Lane which is well served by public transport services including Santander Bikes.
