Unqualified SEN Support Worker (SEMH) - South Bristol - September Start Location: South BristolPay: £90-£110 per day (depending on experience)Contract: Full-time | Term-time only | Long-term opportunities available Are you looking to build a career supporting young people with additional needs, but don't hold formal teaching qualifications? Do you have experience in areas such as care, youth work, coaching, residential support or mental health services? We are recruiting Unqualified SEN Support Workers to join specialist SEN and SEMH schools across South Bristol from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who need additional emotional and behavioural support to engage in education and reach their potential. About the Schools These specialist settings support pupils aged 5-16 with a range of needs, including: • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) • ADHD • Trauma and attachment-related needs • Behaviour challenges linked to adverse childhood experiences Schools provide small class sizes, structured routines and a therapeutic approach to learning. Staff work closely together to create a safe, nurturing and consistent environment for all pupils. The Role As an Unqualified SEN Support Worker, you will: • Provide 1:1 and small group support • Help pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour effectively • Support learning activities linked to individual EHCP targets • Build strong, professional relationships based on trust and consistency • Work alongside teachers, SENCOs and external professionals • Support pupils both in lessons and during wider school activities This role requires patience, resilience and a calm, proactive mindset. Who We're Looking For We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including: • Youth work • Residential care • Mental health support • Sports coaching • Behaviour mentoring • Support work You should: Be passionate about supporting vulnerable young people Feel confident managing challenging behaviour Remain calm and composed under pressure Be reliable, consistent and professional Hold a DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one) Previous school-based experience is beneficial but not essential.
