This mainstream primary school is seeking a dedicated, compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our nurturing and inclusive team. About the Role The Orchard is a small, supportive specialist provision designed to meet the needs of children with a range of social, emotional, and communication difficulties. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and enjoy their school experience. Your responsibilities will include: Providing 1:1 and small-group support for children with Special Educational Needs Supporting children with communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, and behaviour Assisting the class teacher in delivering a personalised, differentiated curriculum Helping create a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment Using strategies and resources to promote independence and positive behaviour Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families What We’re Looking For We welcome applications from candidates with experience in: Supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other SEND profiles Working in specialist or mainstream education settings Using communication aids, visual supports, or regulation strategies Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour management Most importantly, we’re seeking someone who is: Patient, xehkeey caring, and resilient Able to build positive relationships with children Willing to learn, adapt, and work as part of a collaborative team Passionate about inclusion and child development What We Offer A highly supportive, friendly team within a specialist provision Ongoing training and professional development A rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day A positive environment that prioritises wellbeing—for staff and pupils alike
