SEN Learning Support Assistant - Basingstoke

Prospero Teaching is looking for a patient, dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to support pupils in the Basingstoke area. This role involves helping children with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs and social‑emotional challenges.

You will be working closely with teaching staff to provide consistent support throughout the school day. This includes 1:1 work, small‑group activities, and in‑class support to help pupils stay focused, feel confident, and make steady progress.

This position is perfect for individuals who have worked in care, youth settings, support roles, or graduates in psychology, education, criminology, child development, or similar fields who are looking for a role where they can truly make a difference.

The Role:

Support children with SEND through 1:1 and small‑group support
Assist pupils with lessons, daily routines, and transitions
Encourage positive behaviour, independence and engagement
Help pupils develop confidence and emotional regulation
Follow personalised support plans provided by staff
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral teams
Contribute to a calm, nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphereIdeal Candidate:

Experience supporting children, SEN learners or vulnerable individuals
Calm, patient and able to build trust quickly
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Adaptable and confident working with a variety of needs
A positive role model who provides consistent encouragement

Pay Rate: £14.66-£15.66 per hour

Experience working with children is desirable
