Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a specialist SEN school in South Northamptonshire to recruit a Food Technology Teacher to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs, predominantly severe autism.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and patient teacher who is committed to making a meaningful difference in a specialist setting.

The Role

Deliver engaging and accessible Food Technology lessons tailored to pupils with severe autism

Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of complex needs, including communication and sensory differences

Support pupils in developing life skills, independence, and confidence through practical learning

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and SEN professionals

Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching experience

Experience teaching Food Technology (mainstream or SEN)

Experience working with SEN, particularly autism, is highly desirable

Calm, flexible, and empathetic approach to behaviour and learning

Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and sensory-aware practice
