Academics are proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Luton to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Class Teacher. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a nurturing SEMH setting, supporting Key Stage 2 pupils who require a trauma-informed, relationship-focused approach to learning.

This SEN Class Teacher role would suit an experienced teacher or nurture practitioner who is passionate about helping pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs re-engage with education, build emotional resilience, and achieve both academically and personally.

The Role - KS2 Focus - Luton

As a SEN Class Teacher, you will:

* Deliver high-quality, nurture-based teaching to small groups and on a 1:1 basis
* Support pupils with SEMH needs, focusing on emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
* Consistently apply trauma-informed and attachment-aware practices
* Plan and deliver personalised learning tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
* Work collaboratively with SENCOs, pastoral teams, therapists, and external professionals
* Create a calm, structured, and predictable classroom environment where pupils feel safe and valued
* You will play a pivotal role in building strong, trusting relationships that enable pupils to develop confidence, self-regulation, and a renewed enthusiasm for learning.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

* Hold QTS or QTLS (desirable), or have substantial experience within an SEN/SEMH setting
* Have proven experience working with KS2 pupils with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs
* Demonstrate resilience, patience, and a consistent approach
* Be skilled in building positive, restorative relationships
* be able to commute to Luton
* Be committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
* Show enthusiasm for continued professional development
