Job Description

A supportive and welcoming primary school in Ealing is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a child in Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with children who have social, emotional and mental health needs, particularly those who may present with challenging behaviour.

This role will involve working 1:1 with a pupil in KS2, providing tailored support to help them engage in learning, develop emotional regulation skills, and build positive relationships within the classroom environment.

The Role:

• SEMH Teaching Assistant supporting a KS2 pupil on a 1:1 basis
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Supporting the child's emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
• Helping the pupil access learning and remain engaged in lessons
• Creating a calm, structured and supportive environment

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviour
• Confident, patient and resilient approach
• Experience within a primary school setting preferred
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs

• Contract: Long-term position for the remainder of the academic year
