SEMH Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working with a mainstream primary school in the OL6 area that are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team after May half term 2026, supporting pupils within their Inclusion Hub.

This is a rewarding role working with children who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils regulate emotions, engage with learning, and develop positive relationships in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Support emotional regulation and behaviour using a calm, consistent approach
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support plans
Help create a nurturing and structured learning environment
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs
Be patient, resilient, and empathetic
Be confident managing challenging behaviour positively
Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
Team Teach or similar training (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
