Your Impact in This SEMH Teaching Assistant Role:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
* Support students experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, behavioural challenges, trauma-related needs, and attachment difficulties
* Help pupils develop emotional regulation skills and positive coping strategies
* Promote positive behaviour through restorative and consistent approaches
* Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and confidence
* Support access to the curriculum and maintain focus during lessons
* Implement and contribute to behaviour support plans and EHCPs
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and inclusion staff
* Monitor and record pupil progress, wellbeing, and behaviour
* Help maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, strengthen their emotional resilience, and develop the confidence they need to succeed. Every day, you'll be providing the consistency, encouragement, and support that can truly change a young person's future.
The Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant
We are seeking someone who is:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable, but not essential. What matters most is your dedication, compassion, and willingness to learn.
