SEMH Teaching Assistant – Primary School, Chatham Location: Chatham Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm Start Date: Immediate Setting: Primary School (SEMH Support)

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience working with young learners who require additional emotional or behavioural support? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Chatham. In this role, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
• Help create a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
• Use de-escalation, emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Support pupils both academically and emotionally throughout the school day

Requirements

• Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEN or behavioural needs
• A calm, patient, resilient and nurturing approach
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
• DBS on the update service xbpsjku (or willingness to apply for one)
