A supportive primary school in Haringey is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from January. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with SEMH needs to access learning, build resilience, and thrive in a primary school environment.

The Role:

Supporting individual pupils and small groups with SEMH needs

Assisting children in the classroom to engage with lessons and manage emotions

Implementing strategies to support behaviour, self-regulation, and social skills

Working closely with teachers, SENCo, and pastoral staff to deliver interventions

Promoting inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and positive relationships

Monitoring progress and reporting to the teaching team

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with children with SEMH needs (primary school experience preferred)

Be patient, empathetic, and resilient

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Be proactive and able to build positive relationships with children and staff

Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

Be available full-time from January
