About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a specialist educational setting supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEMH practitioner, or a teacher looking to specialise in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where positive relationships are at the heart of learning.
You will work with small class sizes, allowing you to deliver personalised, engaging and meaningful lessons that support both academic progress and emotional development. The role requires a calm, flexible and reflective approach, with a strong commitment to inclusion and behaviour support.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching to pupils with SEMH needs
Develop positive, trusting relationships to support emotional regulation and engagement
Plan and deliver creative, well-structured lessons aligned to individual learning plans
Implement trauma-informed and restorative behaviour strategies
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and external agencies
Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and multi-agency meetings
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning and personal development
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
Has experience working with pupils with SEMH, ASC, ADHD or associated needs
Demonstrates strong behaviour management rooted in empathy and consistency
Is resilient, reflective and adaptable to meet individual pupil needs
Communicates effectively with pupils, colleagues and families
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
