Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in Huddersfield looking to take the next step in your career? Academics is recruiting a confident and resilient HLTA to work within an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school setting, delivering lesson cover during teacher PPA and management time.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting students who require structure, consistency, and strong relationships to succeed.
About the role:
Leading whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher
Covering lessons across a range of subjects during PPA and leadership release time
Supporting students with SEMH needs to remain engaged and on task
Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategiesWhat we're looking for:
HLTA status or significant experience in a similar role
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
Confidence in leading a classroom independently
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
