Self‑Employed Consultant / Associate Building Surveyor

Residential Defects, Specifications & Contract Administration

Arun Associates is a small, well‑established building surveying practice based in North West London. We are seeking to build relationships with experienced, self‑employed Building Surveyors to work with us on a consultancy / associate basis in response to increasing instructions relating to residential building defects and remedial projects.

This is not an employed or full‑time role. We are looking for senior surveyors who wish to collaborate on a flexible, project‑by‑project or agreed‑availability basis, alongside their own existing work.

Typical instructions include:

• Investigation and diagnosis of residential building defects
• Preparation of remedial specifications
• Contract administration on remedial works
• Housing disrepair / technical advisory input (instruction dependent)
• Liaison with homeowners, landlords, managing agents and contractors

What we’re looking for:

• Chartered Building Surveyor (or senior surveyor with equivalent experience)
• Strong background in residential building pathology
• Comfortable with specification writing and contract administration
• Able to work independently and communicate professionally with clients
• Self‑employed and appropriately insured
