Self Employed Rock Climbing Instructor
New Today
Wellington Health & Fitness Club delivers exceptional member experiences, and our climbing team is seeking a skilled instructor to support our growing indoor programme.
The Club is a welcoming and energetic environment where high standards of coaching, wellbeing and member engagement shape everything we do. As part of Wellington College Services, we serve pupils, staff, members and visitors, creating an inclusive community dedicated to health, confidence and lifelong fitness. Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, the Club offers outstanding facilities and a warm, supportive culture for instructors who take pride in delivering exceptional sessions.
This self-employed role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in our indoor climbing provision, supporting a programme that welcomes a broad range of ages, interests and experience levels. You will bring expertise, energy and a commitment to creating safe, enjoyable and progressive sessions that inspire climbers to grow in confidence and skill. Working independently while contributing to our collaborative team environment, you will lead structured sessions that blend technical development with positive encouragement, ensuring every participant feels valued and supported.
Our climbing wall is a vibrant hub within the Club, used by junior groups, College pupils, adult members and private hirers. Your ability to adapt coaching approaches, communicate clearly and maintain a reassuring, professional presence will help shape consistently positive experiences. This opportunity is ideal for instructors who enjoy the variety of evening, weekend and seasonal programme activity, who are confident managing sessions autonomously, and who take pride in upholding excellent safeguarding and Health & Safety standards.
You will be part of a forward-thinking, member-focused operation that values personal professionalism, clear communication and high-quality delivery. We welcome instructors who bring enthusiasm for the sport, a warm and supportive coaching style, and a desire to contribute to a programme built around progression, inclusion and enjoyment. As a self-employed provider, you will supply your own coaching approaches, maintain relevant qualifications and insurance, and work in partnership with our Studio Co-ordinator to deliver first-rate sessions throughout the year.
Safeguarding & Wellbeing
The Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults, and we expect all contractors to share this commitment. Appointments are subject to appropriate child protection screening, including an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and all applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and communities. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment and are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
