We are seeking a reliable and skilled self employed 3.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods and installiont to various locations in amd around essex, ensuring that all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with company standards. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Duties
Operate a 3.5 tonne lorry for the delivery of goods to designated locations.
Ensure compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies during transportation.
Perform pre-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order.
Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly for transport.
Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork.
Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from clients.
Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and stock organisation.
Requirements
Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate category for 3.5 tonne vehicles.
Previous experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
A good understanding of warehouse operations is beneficial.
