Job Overview Mitie Security is looking for Security Support Officers in the Edinburgh area to assist with cover on prestigious client properties. Most cover will be pre‑arranged but a degree of flexibility will be needed due to late cover requests and sickness cover requirements. As an officer you will protect our customers’ property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any subsequent changes. You must deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreements for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in contract retention. Additional training will be undertaken to ensure continuous self‑development. Main Duties – Operations
Be aware of and ensure compliance with all policies, UK law and statutory requirements. Fully complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published AI’s. Proactively review the AI’s, suggests amendments to improve service levels. Maintain a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision and a CCTV PSS SIA Licence, complying with contractual training requirements. Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role. Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority. Work in a systematic, methodological and orderly way.
Training
Fully complete all required competency training. Undertake additional training directed by the Security Account Manager. Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development. Renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
Report any Health & Safety hazards immediately. Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment to reduce disruption, loss or damage. Use common sense and initiative, involving others if a situation appears threatening. Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers. Complete accurate notebook entries after any incident for the Incident Report process. Maintain schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client. Ensure check calls are conducted at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the AI’s. Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
What We Are Looking For
Previous security experience. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and oral English. SIA Licence. Willingness to travel and own transport.
