These flexible opportunities are ideal for Secondary Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school environments. You will be supporting pupils in Enfield and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and gain confidence across a range of subjects.Duties as Secondary Teaching Assistant:
Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
Support pupils with additional needs to help them fully engage in lessons
Promote positive behaviour and follow school behaviour policies
Help prepare learning materials and contribute to classroom organisation
Encourage independence, confidence, and good study habits
Monitor pupil progress and share relevant observations with teaching staff
Support school routines and wider duties during longer-term placementsIdeal Secondary Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience supporting pupils in a secondary school setting
Strong understanding of strategies for supporting mixed-ability and SEND learners
Calm, patient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
Confident supporting learning across different subject areas
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Adaptable across year groups and varied classroom environments
Professional, reliable, and proactive
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
