Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Scientist located in Oxford or London. The Scientist will be responsible for designing and optimising in vitro cell-based assays, conducting routine screening assays and performing cell culture experiments. The role will involve collaborating with a team of researchers across machine learning, omics and disease biology.


Key Experiences Required

  • Experience with the setup and optimisation of RNA (shRNA, LNA, siRNA) or CRISPR-based screening approaches across diverse cell types.
  • Experience with cell culture, including challenging cell-culture models (primary cells, iPSC, etc.)
  • Set up and run biochemical (ELISA), qPCR and imaging-based endpoint assays.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records using Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in biology, chemistry, and bioinformatics to progress programs.
  • Present experimental findings in internal meetings and contribute to project reports.
  • An academic or professional interest in neuromuscular or rare diseases


Qualifications

  • PhD or Master's in a relevant biological discipline.
  • Some industrial experience preferred.


Optional

  • Some experience with lab automation or DoE (Design of Experiments)
  • An interest in learning or developing a basic data science (coding) capability
