Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Brent seeking an HR Manager to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HR professional with school-based experience to lead on people strategy, ensure compliance, and support staff development in a dynamic school environment.
HR Manager - Role Overview
As HR Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing all aspects of human resources within the school. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, and retention
Advising senior leadership on HR policies, procedures, and employment law
Leading on staff performance management, absence management, and employee relations
Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, safer recruitment, and HR best practices in education
Maintaining accurate HR records and overseeing payroll processes
Supporting staff wellbeing initiatives and promoting a positive working culture
Handling disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with school policies
Contributing to strategic planning and organisational development
Requirements
Proven experience in an HR Manager or senior HR role within a school or educational setting (essential)
CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above preferred)
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
In-depth understanding of safeguarding and safer recruitment in schools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
Strong organisational and leadership skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
