Job Title: School Cleaner (Primary School)

Location: Primary School Site
Hours: Variable – Morning or Evening Shifts Available

Job Purpose:
To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, and visitors by carrying out a range of cleaning duties across the primary school premises.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, and shared areas.

Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.

Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with school procedures.

Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, and washroom areas.

Wipe and sanitise desks, tables, door handles, and other frequently touched surfaces.

Clean windows, glass panels, and internal doors where required.

Refill cleaning supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet roll.

Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.

Report any maintenance issues, damages, or health and safety concerns to the Site Manager.

Follow school safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control procedures at all times.

Working Hours:

Hours may vary depending on school needs.

Shifts may include:

Early morning shifts (before school opening)

Evening shifts (after school closing) Flexibility may be required during school events or holiday periods.

Person Specification:

Essential:

Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good attention to detail.

Ability to follow cleaning and safety procedures.

Desirable:

Previous cleaning experience (school or commercial environment preferred).

Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.Additional Information:

An enhanced DBS check may be required due to working within a school environment.

Full training and cleaning equipment will be provided.
