School Chef - Ongoing Supply Role Location: Islington Start: ASAP
Remedy Education are currently seeking an experienced and reliable School Cook to support a prestigious Academy in Islington on an ongoing basis while their Head Chef is away. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a well-run school kitchen, maintain high standards, and play a key role in the day-to-day catering operation.
Alongside leading the kitchen team, you'll also oversee catering for a variety of school events and take responsibility for managing the service in the absence of the Catering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, restaurant-standard catering within a school environment
Prepare, cook and serve meals to agreed standards and specifications
Maintain full compliance with purchasing procedures and HACCP requirements
Act as the first point of contact for any food quality concerns
Support and guide the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience leading or managing a kitchen team
Creativity, flair and a genuine passion for fresh, high-quality food
A proactive approach with a drive to continuously develop the food offering
Experience managing food costs and working within budgets
Strong communication and people skills
