School Caretaker - Secondary School | Newham | Long-Term Role

A secondary school in Newham is seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join their site team. This is a long-term position running until July 2026, with the potential for extension for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Opening and closing the school site
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensuring the school premises are clean, safe, and secure at all times
• Setting up rooms and facilities for school activities and events
• Conducting regular health and safety checks
• Supporting with deliveries and site-related tasks
• Liaising with contractors when required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience in a caretaker, site assistant, or facilities role (school experience desirable but not essential)
• Basic maintenance and DIY skills
• A strong understanding of health and safety procedures
• Good organisational and communication skills
