Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged with a fast-growing, clean‑label food business building serious momentum in the UK independent grocery and health & wellness sector. This role sits at the heart of the growth journey, owning and scaling relationships across independent retailers and sub‑distributors, while helping shape the long‑term channel strategy. This entrepreneurial position would suit someone who thrives on building from the ground up and wants genuine influence over how a brand is presented in store.


Key Accountabilities

  • Manage and grow an existing footprint of independent grocery stores via sub‑distributor partners
  • Open new independent and health & wellness retail accounts across the UK
  • Build strong, direct relationships with store buyers to drive ranging, repeat orders and long‑term loyalty
  • Ensure excellent in‑store visibility, merchandising and product placement
  • Champion brand awareness across a portfolio of premium, clean‑label food brands
  • Identify emerging clean‑label brands and share recommendations with procurement
  • Oversee smooth logistics and fulfilment across direct and indirect distribution models
  • Identify and resolve operational gaps as the channel scales
  • Build and lead a field sales team as the business grows


People Profile

  • Minimum 6–7 years’ experience in UK independent grocery and/or health & wellness retail sales
  • Proven, active network of independent store buyers that can be engaged immediately
  • Hands‑on experience with clean‑label, better‑for‑you or functional food brands
  • Strong commercial instinct with the ability to spot ranging and growth opportunities
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a field‑based, build‑from‑scratch role
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a practical, sleeves‑rolled‑up approach
  • Confident operating across both direct‑to‑retailer and sub‑distributor models
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK


Experience or familiarity with premium, functional, or differentiated food brands is highly advantageous.
