Purpose of Job: To drive revenue by effectively selling the Holiday Inn Bolton within the local and national marketplace. To increase market share and profitability of existing accounts and secure new business across all market segments, by researching and targeting business in competitor hotels and venues, both locally and nationally as well as being totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly, and effective approach. Working with the Sales Director at M&T, General Manager & Reactive Sales team to develop and represent the hotels brand positioning and profile locally. Main Responsibilities : Working with Head of Sales and Sales Director at M&T to produce a Sales & Marketing Plan that accurately interprets the objectives of the business and maps out the actions and strategies required within the marketplace to support the positioning of the Holiday Inn Bolton with a focus on meetings, events & bedrooms. Work with the Head of Sales and Sales Director to devise strategies and tactics to retain and grow the business and support revenue maximisation of our event spaces & bedrooms within the hotel. Research competitor performance & prepare SWOT analysis to gain an understanding of business trends, the competition, and their key accounts at the Holiday Inn Bolton . Attend monthly Commercial Focus Meetings with General Manager, Revenue Manager & Head of Departments to outline goals and objectives for the months ahead for the hotel. Actively seek, identify, secure and contract new and repeat business for all areas of the business, across all market segments, ie, Events, Conferences, Meetings, Associations, and Corporate market segments. Research potential new accounts, conduct telesales calls, business park drops, plan appointments and carry out weekly face-to-face sales calls in line with agreed targets for Holiday Inn Bolton . Prepare account development plans for the top accounts to ensure maximum share and exposure from each account and agency. Maintain extensive market and product knowledge and work with the hotel on adapting products and services to match client requirements and business trends. Managing Relationships Manage and penetrate new accounts to secure business and in turn increase market share Maintain rapport and reward loyalty through entertaining top producing clients as required. When entertaining clients, remember you are at all times representing the business. Work with the Sales Director to strengthen current relationships within the local community. Represent the hotel at seminars, business events etc. to maximise networking opportunities to raise the profile/awareness of the hotels. Develop relationships with the IHG Worldwide Sales Teams to drive business through their accounts into the hotel by hosting FAM Trips, incentive travel & workshops accordingly. Reporting Ensure effective use of the companys CRM system, in line with the minimum standards of use. Ensure weekly and monthly sales reports are created and sent to the Sales Director, General Manager & Michels & Taylors Commercial & Sales Teams. Prepare and complete other reports and presentations as required Other Actively contribute and participate in Sales and Marketing initiatives, recommending, implementing and monitoring appropriate local activity At every opportunity cross sell all Michels and Taylor managed properties. To be on site at the hotel, or in the local Bolton area conducting appointments with clients or suppliers Key Performance Indicators. Performance is monitored using Michels and Taylor dashboards in Salesforce and KPI tracker, including a set of yearly targets and Bonus scheme agreed with the Sales Director and Commercial Director. Knowledge & Skills Required by the Job Holder: Experience and a successful track record of sales experience within hotels preferred. Excellent sales, customer care, account management and negotiation skills. Strong presentation and influencing skills. Highly motivated, enthusiastic & good team player Driven and determined to achieve results and open to new ideas Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and engage effectively at all levels. A willingness to travel throughout the UK (presenting to prospective partner organisations, meeting and entertaining clients, attending trade fairs/shows when required). Knowledge of PMS and CRM systems preferred. Report writing skills and able to use word; excel spreadsheets and power point for presentations. Remain focused at all times and able to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines. Good written and verbal English. Able to work in the UK. . No agency.
