Sales & Account Manager (ETOA call a Market Manager ) - working at the European Tourism Association, you will be managing relationships with key members such as hotels, attractions, DMC's, heritage sights, transportations, restaurants and DMOs and develop new sales and sponsorship opportunities.This role supports ETOAs membership and events growth in Italy, while maintaining strong engagement with the existing member community. The position of Sales & Account Manager represents ETOA at key trade events and industry forums relevant to the Italian market and works closely with the Operator & Destination Engagement Manager to support members operating in and working with Italy. The role ensures that ETOA benefits from up-to-date market insight, and maintains a visible, active, and trusted presence in the market to strengthen relationships, support members, and enhance ETOAs influence.As Sales & Account Manager you will : Develop and deliver the market plan for Italy covering membership, events, partnerships, and sponsorship, including revenue targets, sales activity, travel planning, retention strategy, and partner/destination engagement. Generate new membership and event revenue in line with agreed goals, identifying target sectors, organisations, and locations to support growth. Build and maintain strong relationships with members, prospects, destinations, DMOs, tourist boards, and commercial partners to expand ETOAs network, influence, and income opportunities. Monitor account activity and implement retention and engagement actions to maintain participation and reduce cancellations. Identify and secure partnerships, sponsorship, and collaboration opportunities that extend ETOAs reach and support commercial and strategic objectives. Work closely with the Events Team and colleagues to maximise participation, sponsorship, revenue, and delegate satisfaction across ETOA events and in-market activity. Support the planning and delivery of workshops, networking events, webinars, trade shows, and other industry activities in Italy.Market Engagement, Representation & Insight Represent ETOA in Italy and actively promote its purpose, services, and membership benefits. Maintain awareness of market conditions, industry needs, and emerging opportunities, sharing insight internally to support strategy and policy work. Engage regularly with members and prospects through meetings, visits, calls, networking, and industry events. Support local networking, working groups, forums, and community-building initiatives that strengthen ETOAspresence and reputation. Coordinate with country representatives and colleagues to ensure consistent market coverage and alignedactivity. Contribute to ETOAs reputation as a credible, constructive, and influential industry association.Skills and Qualifications: Fluent in Italian and English. Proven experience in sales, market development, or membership/business development. Strong knowledge of the tourism industry in Italy Strong commercial awareness with strategic thinking and an entrepreneurial approach. Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Ability to work independently, take ownership, and manage priorities to deadlines. Well-organised, flexible, and responsive, with strong time-management skills. Experience using CRM systems and working with reporting, budgets, or financial data.
