Salaried GP required, 4 sessions to be worked over Wednesday and ThursdayWe are looking for a salaried GP to join our practice until 31.12.26.Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients.Clinical Responsibilities:In accordance with your job plan, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashionMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problemsAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessIn consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for healthCompletion of clinically related administrative and non clinical duties need for the delivery of the serviceProviding counselling and health educationRefer patients for further opinions and interventions according to practice protocolsRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions using EPS and ERDPrescribing in accordance with the ICB prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateAbout usThepractice is a friendly and cohesive unit. We are situated just outside Redditchtown centre with excellent commuter links to Birmingham and surrounding areas.Our list size is 11000 patients and is currently managed by 3 partners with 6 salaried GPs, 3 pharmacists, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 HCA and an excellent administrativesupport team. We are high QOF achievers and we are actively engaged in ourPCN. We have daily meetings which we encourage all doctors to attend. As well as the usualservices, we provide minor operations and musculoskeletal assessment/injectionclinics. We have motivated and supportive GPs with goodsubspecialty areas of expertise.Our practice has worked closely for some years with 5 otherlocal practices as part of an innovative neighbourhood team, which has now seenus develop our pro-active Primary Care Network. This provides GPs withincreased opportunities for portfolio careers, career development andprogression.Job responsibilitiesJOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE: SALARIED GENERAL PRACTITIONERREPORTS TO: THE PARTNERS ClinicallyTHE OPERATIONS MANAGER AdministrativelyOverall Purpose To provide NHS personal medical services to registered patients on the Practice listJob Summary:The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.Clinical Responsibilities:In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, triage, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashionRespond to medical problems presented by temporary residents as requiredMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessIn consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for healthTo assist in the establishment of appropriate systems to manage common chronic medical conditions e.g. asthma, COPDCompletion of clinically related administrative and non clinical duties need for the delivery of the serviceProviding counselling and health educationRefer patients for further opinions and interventions according to practice protocolsRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) using EPS and ERD as first optionPrescribing in accordance with the CCG prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateIn general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.Maintaining, Monitoring & Updating Computer Database and Management of Medical Records & Practice AuditsEnsure that practice clinical database is updated promptly and accurately with information relating to patient records, as required for clinical accuracy and for practice recording requirements under IM&T protocols, QOF and enhanced servicesRespond to alerts on recordsAppropriate use of snomed codesParticipating in the collection and collation of statistics towards the preparation of practice reports, performance monitoring and auditsParticipation in the auditing of Practice activityParticipation in patient satisfaction auditsStandardsDuties must be completed within the following timescale:Routine Reports 1 weekRoutine Letters within 2 working daysPractice OrganisationProcess and action incoming patient and hospital correspondenceUndertake private medicals as requiredAttendance at primary health care team meetings, significant event audit meetings, annual complaint audit meeting, IQSP meetings and others as deemed necessaryInitiate and participate n the formulation and implementation of new protocols, policies and procedures to aid and improve administrative organisation and the provision of services to patientsEnsure that the Practice complaints system is adhered to at all timesAwareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safetyCompletion of Information Governance online toolkit annually and provide certificateMaintain current BLS and anaphylaxis certificationUndertake all mandatory training as advised by the PracticeProfessional DevelopmentParticipate in an annual performance review under agreed headingsEngage in appropriate educational activity to maintain clinical competence and performanceAttendance and participation in educational meetings in the Practice and externallySupport colleagues in their professional developmentConfidentiality:In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters.
