OverviewThe VacancySafety & Risk Consultant (CDM Principal Designer) – South West EnglandBinnies, part of the RSK Group, is looking for an experienced and competent Safety & Risk Consultant to work within the South-West of England. You will be an essential member of our Safety & Risk Team, assisting a valued client to deliver flood and coastal projects. You will act as the technical lead for the region and resource a team to discharge the duties of principal designer and CDM advisor on a varied portfolio of schemes.This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a highly successful consultancy during an exciting period of growth. ResponsibilitiesDischarge the duties of the principal designer or the CDM advisor on a wide variety of projects across the Southeast RegionProvide technical guidance to site-based and/or office-based staff and less experienced colleaguesVisit sites to assess existing hazards, and work closely with clients to ensure information is passed onto design and construction teamsMaintain client relationships on a day-to-day basis, championing client safety programmes and producing statutory documentation such as pre-construction information and health & safety file, along with appraisal of contractor’s documentationAttend design and progress meetings and undertake site audits/inspections during construction, with potential to chair buildability meetings and hazard meetings (e.g., HAZCONs or HAZOPs) Essential experienceRelevant Degree or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)CMaPS & CMIOSHExperience on civil engineering construction projects in a health & safety consultancy roleGood working knowledge of Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015Driving licenseGood communication skills, trustworthy, team player DesirableCPD regularly updated; experience in health & safety trainingEnvironmental awareness qualificationSite experience and understanding of design within flood, coastal & maritime environmentsExperience with large project start-ups Why join usWould you like to work in a business where you feel empowered to grow, where there is no place for criticism or discrimination, and where people are mindful and respectful?
