Imagine yourself joining a dedicated Safety and Environmental Team, a small but growing group that forms a crucial part of a larger equipment support function. You will be instrumental in producing and delivering essential safety artefacts, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and timeliness while aligning perfectly with client expectations.

Your experience in safety and risk management techniques, processes and concepts will be the cornerstone of your contributions, enabling our client's success in meeting their stringent safety requirements. You will navigate the intricacies of UK Ministry of Defence safety regulation, policy and standards, including Defence Safety Authority Regulations, Defence Equipment and Support Acquisition Safety and Environmental Management System, Project Orientated Safety Management System and Def Stan 00-056. Practical experience in managing hazard logs, facilitating HAZID and hazard review meetings, and authoring comprehensive safety assessment or safety case reports, complete with ALARP justifications, will be invaluable. Knowledge of statutory safety legislation and compliance management is highly desirable.

This role calls for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual, ideally bringing a background in UK defence engineering or system safety. Alternatively, professional systems safety or risk management experience gained within other sectors is equally valued. Your analytical thinking skills and collaborative spirit will be key to thriving within this customer-focused environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as you will be presenting professionally to diverse stakeholders. We are seeking a self-motivated professional, preferably with a recognised technical qualification in Engineering.

This is a permanent role based in Cheltenham, offering a hybrid working pattern. While you will enjoy the flexibility of hybrid work, there may be requirements to visit or work on client sites as needed.
