About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Retention Team Leader to join a market-leading Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and Occupational Health provider based in Manchester City Centre.
You'll lead a high-performing Relationship Management / Client Retention team, playing a key role in retaining existing clients, identifying upsell opportunities, and developing team capability through coaching, mentoring, and performance analysis.
This role is ideal for a confident people leader who thrives in a fast-paced, fully onsite environment and enjoys balancing commercial outcomes with team development.

What you'll be doing

As Retention Team Leader, you'll be responsible for both people leadership and commercial performance , including:
Leading, mentoring, and motivating a team of Relationship / Retention Executives
Driving client retention, renewals, and upsell performance
Conducting regular 1:1s, coaching sessions, and quality assurance reviews
Setting and monitoring individual and team KPIs
Analysing performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Supporting client and broker meetings around renewals and service delivery
Coordinating training plans for new starters and ongoing development
Promoting a collaborative, high-performance team culture

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Retention Team Leader, Team Leader, Account Management Lead, or similar
Strong background in client retention, relationship management, or customer success
Confident people manager with coaching and mentoring experience
Commercial mindset with experience driving upsell or revenue growth
Strong data analysis and reporting skills (Excel essential)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable working fully onsite in Manchester City Centre
